This paper reviews digital signal processing techniques that compensate, mitigate, and exploit fiber nonlinearities in coherent optical fiber transmission systems.

In this paper, linearisation of transmitter and receiver nonlinearities of an optical Intensity Modulation/Direct Detection system using digital signal processing is presented and analysed.
